Edwin Flack "The Lion of Athens".

In this episode, Paul pays a special tribute to a much-forgotten legend of Australian sport. Edwin Flack who competed at the first Modern Olympic Games in Athens in 1896, was Australia's first Olympian and first Olympic Champion. Flack won gold medals in the 800m and 1500m on the track and his great athletic achievements, popularity and courage earned him the name from the locals as "The Lion of Athens". Edwin Flack put Australia on the world map and he began a tremendous legacy with Australia and the Olympic Games.
