Hannah is 26, een millenial. Ze groeide op in Nederland en Schotland, haar vrienden komen uit verschillende landen, zeis politiek bewust, ze is feminist, ze heeft een druk leven. Dus, toen ze een aanzoek kreeg van haar Amerikaans/Britse vriend om te gaan trouwen, begon ze zich allerlei vragen testellen. Kan dat wel, trouwen? Hoe moet dat dan? Wat vindt mijn nog ongetrouwde vriendenkring daarvan? Hoe kan je zoiets traditioneels doen zonder je idealen van gelijkheid, zelfstandigheid en eigenheid geweld aan te doen? En wat moet je dan aan? Hannah ging te rade bij haar grootmoeders, haar moeder en stiefmoeder. Hoe trouwden zij? Wat geloofden ze? Wat beloofdenze? Wat droegen ze? Wat betekende dat voor ze? In een poging het beste over te nemen en het verouderde te laten voor wat het is, gaat ze met kunstenares en kleermaaksterJanne Kromhout op zoek naar nieuwe, hoogstpersoonlijke trouwkleren; geen jurk, wel wit, sierlijk maar genderneutraal. De radiodocumentaire Een Jurk voor Hannah maakteen tocht door drie generaties getrouwde vrouwen op zoek naar wat bleef en wat verdween.
