EFF to intensify campaign against racism at Brackenfell High School
from AM Live on SAfm · host SABC News and Current Affairs
The EFF has vowed to intensify its campaign against alleged racism at Brackenfell High School in the Western Cape. EFF members and parents of the school clashed over a private matric celebration organised by some parents which allegedly excluded black students. Western Cape Education Minister Debbie Schafer has warned that if the EFF continues its protest action she will approach the courts to interdict them from disrupting the Grade 12 examinations. Meanwhile President Cyril Ramaphosa has also condemned the incident and has called for an urgent investigation into allegations of racism at the school. He says all parties involved should exercise restraint and resolved the matter peacefully and through dialogue. We spoke to our reporter, Berenice Moss and Kerry Mauchline, spokesperson for the Western Cape Education MEC, Debbie Schäfer.
