Effective Exam Room Communication

Regardless of where you are today on your cancer journey, maintaining effective communication with your healthcare team is so very important to ensuring your needs are met and you keep moving in the right direction.  In this epsiode, we chat with registered dietitian nutritionist and physician assistant, Collen Sloan, about a novel, but maybe not so novel concept - patient-led communication in the exam room. This term  refers to a healthcare approach where the patient actively drives the conversation during a medical appointment, sharing their concerns, questions, and perspectives first, allowing the healthcare provider to listen attentively and respond accordingly, rather than solely directing the discussion with clinical questions.
