Bu bölümün amacı, dinleyicilerimize 100 yıl önce Yunanistan ve Türkiye arasında gerçekleşen 1923 Nüfus Mübadelesine dair kapsamlı arka plan bilgisi sağlamak. Öncelikle mübadeleye sebep olan tarihi ve siyasi gelişmeleri ve mübadelenin nasıl gerçekleştiğini anlatacağız. Sonrasında mübadele sürecinde din odaklı ulus kimliğinin öne çıktığını, Türklüğün ön şartının sünni İslama, Yunanlığın ise ortodoks hristiyanlığa inanma olduğundan bahsedeceğiz. Son olarak da 100 yıl boyunca iki ülkenin bu ulus kimlik anlayışına sadık kalma adına uyguladığı göç politikalarını kısaca anlatacağız.
