Egg Harbor man admits to sexually abusing his underage stepdaughter

A 50-year-old Egg Harbor Township man has admitted in court to sexually abusing his stepdaughter. The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office says Rufino Carreon-Peralta pleaded guilty to first-degree aggravated sexual assault of a child under 13, as well as charges for filming the crimes. The victim came to police with the allegations in May 2023. As part of the plea, the state is recommending 18 years in prison under the "No Early Release Act," as well as lifetime on the sex offender’s list with supervised parole.
