This represents completely new territory because if you google either “egology” or “egologist” you will get no hits! This program will focus on filling a gigantic hole in our understanding of ego and ourselves. A hole in which there has been no place to go for laypersons, mental health professionals, and spiritual healers, to get a comprehensive, coherent, and integrated discussion of ego. A hole that ignores the pervasive impact that ego is having on relationships; achievement and coming to know our life’s purpose; growing our mind with truth rather than the nonsense that often comes to fill it; managing all of the changes, failures, stressors, and conflicts we must all deal with; and our ability to experience genuine, lasting happiness. A hole involving ignorance of this core influence on our humanity, having a profound impact on our human and spiritual wellness.During this program, Dr. Nick will be describing three resources available to you that can enrich your understanding of ego, yourself, and your life. These include:1) his website www.egoandspirit.info, which has several pages dedicated to taking you deeper and “inside” ego, 2) his books, Ego Therapy, EgoSpiritualism, The Two Voices Within, and It’s Your Ego—Stupid!, which complement each other while taking on the task of looking at ego and your ego from different vantage points, and 3) his show, It’s Your Ego—Stupid!, which is intended to consider on a weekly basis, the impact of a particular ego energy on an important area of life, as indicated by the symptoms, reflections of ego stupidity, and ego’s impact on spiritual wellness, being experienced by real people, living in the real world.Earlier, I referred to egology as the study of ego. But ultimately, it’s the study of you by you. Up to now there has been no doorway for you to walk through in order to do that. There has been no way for you to go inside to see what’s taking place with your ego and ego energy. No longer is that the case.
