Eight muscles, unlimited power | A Critical Tongue
from This is the Day Rejoice · host Elizabeth Giles and Monika Walker
The tongue. Life or death is in the power of the tongue. It dishoners or builds up and greatly affects those around us. Our hearts are known by what comes out of our mouths. When anger or anxiety are are present in our heart, our tongues will make it know. When unrepentant sin has taken told, our tongues will make it known. Criticicizing, belittling, and snapping at others, our tongues can destroy so quickly, and once words are released into the air, there's no getting them back. A critical tongue dishonors God. We want to be people who encourage those around us with our tongues, from a gentle and quiet spirit, speaking words seasoned with salt and truth. Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit. Proverbs 15:2 The tongue of the wise makes knowledge look good, But the mouth of fools pours forth folly. ________________________ When this is the Day you apply your makeup carefully, or are thoughtful about your outfit, and make an attempt to present your outward appearance well, but your words cut with anger, with harsh undertones, impatience, a jugemental spirit, or critical pride, remember that confession is also by the tongue, and should lead to repentance, which is always something to rejoice about. ________________________ Resources: Visit our shop for super one-of-a-kind designs that promote gospel centered conversations.
