Lesson Six: The gospel is glorious because of its results C- because of the gospel we have the promise of Heaven. INTRO: In lesson four we discussed result A= the gospel gives new life. In lesson five we discussed result B= the gospel gives spiritual blessings. Today we will see the gospel is our guarantee of Heaven: 1. Because of the gospel we have an inheritance. Eph. 1:11 • We are joint heirs with Christ. Rom.8:17 • This present earth is the inheritance of the lost. Psalm 115:16 • Satan is the god of the unsaved world. 2 Cor.4:4 • Heaven is the home of the saved. Psalm 116:15; 2 Cor.5:8; 1 Thess. 4:16-18 • Our Father is the true God in Heaven. Ref lesson four. Luke 11:2. See John 14:1-4; 17:1; Acts 7:49; 1 John 5:7 2. Because of the Gospel we are sealed by the Holy Spirit. Eph. 1:13 • As a result of hearing the gospel. V13a • Because we believed the gospel. V13b • We were sealed by the Spirit of promise. V13b; 1 John 2:25; 5:13 • The Holy Spirit is the guarantee of our redemption. Eph. 1:14; Rom. 8:16,23 = first our soul then our body 3. Because of the gospel we are positionally, already, in Heaven. Eph. 2;5-6 • We have been made alive together with Christ. V5. See John 1:4; 3:15-16; 10:28 • We have been raised together with Christ. V6 Rom. 4:25 • We are seated together with Christ. V6 Eph 1:20; Heb. 12:2, Rev. 3:21 • All of this is possible because we are in Christ. V6 Rom. 6:3; 1 Cor 12:13; 2 Cor 5:17; Gal. 3:27 Conclusion: Salvation is Christ in us. Eternal security is us in Christ.
