Deutschland und die USA erwirkten, dass insgesamt 16 Personen aus russischer Haft übergeben wurden, darunter deutsche und US-amerikanische Staatsbürger sowie russische Oppositionelle. Wie lange wurde der Austausch vorbereitet? Und ist der Tausch von Unschuldigen mit verurteilten Verbrechern ein fairer Deal? Holger Stark, Leiter des Investigativressorts von ZEIT und ZEIT ONLINE, kennt die Hintergründe. Der ukrainische Präsident Wolodymyr Selenskyj will einen Friedensplan und Gespräche mit Russland am Verhandlungstisch anstoßen. Allerdings müsse die Ukraine dafür militärisch erst in eine bessere Verhandlungsposition gelangen, heißt es von vielen Seiten. Die aktuelle Lage an der Front sieht jedoch anders aus. So können Russlands Truppen können das Kampfgeschehen weiter bestimmen.
