El asalto al capital: Por qué la regulación le ganó la partida a Silicon Valley.
from FinTech Tour® (el podcast) · host Legal Paradox®
When a regulator like the UK's FCA and the CFTE — with no commercial agenda, no marketing incentive — selects 4 projects out of 60 globally, and one of them is a Mexican law firm, something big is happening. What CFTE - Centre for Finance, Technology and Entrepreneurship and the FCA are signaling is not just "good work by Legal Paradox®." It is a structural thesis: the next generation of AI-Native legal infrastructure may not come from Silicon Valley. It will come from where regulatory complexity was highest first. That is where technical discipline was forced by context, not by trend.Three implications worth pinning down:🔹 Civil Law — where most of the regulated world operates, including all of Latin America, Continental Europe, and significant parts of Asia — is structurally underserved by every funded AI-Native firm built so far.🔹 The world's most sophisticated regulators (FCA, MAS, SEC) are recognizing that viable AI-Native innovation does not require a U.S. flag or a Sequoia check.🔹 Regulatory validation is scarcer than VC capital. Those who hold it set the rules of the table. Those who do not, play on tables others designed.Archie Cochrane from Nascent VC put it sharply last week: "The fastest revenue growing companies at YC's W26 Demo Day weren't the most technically sophisticated. They were professional service firms rebuilt on AI, charging for outcomes with software margins. The LatAm version of this opportunity is arguably larger, less competitive, and almost entirely untouched." That is exactly what we've already built. With one strategic difference worth naming: Our thesis starts at the top. We are first building the AI-Native infrastructure that competes with — and outperforms — the most demanding segment of the legal market: Chambers-ranked, top-tier corporate clients with zero tolerance for error. Premium-first is not the obvious path. It is the harder one. But it is the only path that bottom-up models cannot replicate later.Thank you to CFTE and the FCA for the public articulation of something we have been building for years — without external capital, in Mexico City, successfully competing with firms that have been in business for nearly a century.I am presenting our technology to Fortune 500 companies, and meeting with venture capital funds interested in the AI-Native LATAM thesis. The conversation I am having there is not "imagine what we could build." It is "this already works, the FCA and CFTE have already highlighted this on the international stage, we already count some of the world's top 20 financial institutions and the largest Big Tech companies among our paying clients in production."If you are evaluating where the next generation of AI-Native legal infrastructure will be built, the answer is not in Silicon Valley. The architecture is already running in Mexico City. Let's talk.Damn well — I'm listening.#ArtificialIntelligence #LegalTech #VentureCapital
