Casi 50 años después del fallecimiento del Nobel chileno Pablo Neruda, el misterio de su muerte podría estar a horas de resolverse: un panel internacional de expertos va a revelar hoy si la causa fue el cáncer que padecía o si la dictadura de Pinochet tuvo algo que ver. El presidente de Rusia, Vladímir Putin, dice que tiene "con qué responder" al envío de tanques a Ucrania desde Occidente, incluidos los Leopard alemanes. Precisamente la Unión Europea ha comunicado que va a formar a 30.000 militares ucranianos, entre ellos los que aprenderán a manejar esos modernos carros de combate. Con ese anuncio desembarcaron en Kiev la presidenta de la Unión y 14 de sus comisarios. EEUU firma un acuerdo de acceso a cuatro bases filipinas y China lo tacha de nueva provocación. El Banco Central Europeo ha decidido subir los tipos de interés medio punto más, hasta el 3 %, y volverá subirlos en marzo.
