Los colombianos iremos a las urnas el próximo 8 de marzo para elegir un nuevo Congreso y participar en las consultas que definirán, al menos, a tres de los candidatos presidenciales que competirán en la primera vuelta. Es un momento crucial para la democracia y, por eso mismo, resulta especialmente delicado el debate que se ha abierto en torno al sistema electoral. El presidente Gustavo Petro ha señalado en distintos trinos, especialmente en los últimos días, que los escrutinios serían opacos y vulnerables al fraude, y ha advertido sobre posibles riesgos asociados a los softwares electorales. Ha dicho que no lo hace porque crea que su proyecto político vaya a perder, sino porque considera su deber alertar sobre amenazas a la democracia. Sin embargo, estas afirmaciones, viniendo del jefe de Estado que además fue elegido bajo este mismo sistema, han generado inquietud y desconfianza en algunos sectores.
