Cantante, compositor, guionista y actor de cine, el género milonga lo destacó como uno de sus mejores intérpretes. Su maravillosa voz y fraseo inconfundible acompañaron su carrera exitosa en el Tango. Estudioso de la música y la actuación. Se dio el gusto de triunfar con la orquesta de Aníbal Troilo. Viajó nuestra música rioplatense por toda América, era capaz de cantar –y hacerlo muy bien-, temas de nuestro repertorio folklórico sureño, aunque los Tangos eran su fuerte y base de toda su larga trayectoria. Un cantorazo de los cuarenta que dejó su sello en el gusto del público de manera permanente.
