Lifeline Ventures keräsi juuri Suomen ensimmäisen kansainvälisen mittaluokan startup-rahaston, 400 miljoonaa euroa. HS Visio -podcastin vieraana on Lifeline Venturesin osakas Timo Ahopelto. Hän kertoo yllättyneensä siitä, että rahasto onkin myös Euroopassa niin suuri.Tähän mennessä Lifeline on sijoittanut jo seitsemään kasvuyhtiöön, jotka ovat nousseet yli miljardin arvoiseksi: Supercell, Wolt, Oura, Iceye, Swappie ja Varjo.”Kun katsotaan Suomen ekosysteemiä, meillä on mahdollisuus kuuden vuoden aikana tuottaa 10–15 uutta yksisarvista”, Ahopelto uskoo.Huomio kiinnittyy helposti isoihin rahoituskierroksiin ja menestykseen. Pinnan alla monilla startupeilla on Ahopellon mukaan tällä hetkellä vaikeaa. Kovatkaan kasvuluvut eivät nyt riitä rahoituksen saamiseen.Markkina jakautuu brutaalisti. Vaikka Lifelinella on paljon myös onnistumisia, Ahopellon mukaan esimerkiksi sen ensimmäisestä rahastosta noin 60 prosenttia yrityksistä on kirjattu nollaan.
