Thank you so much to George for commissioning the first two books in the series!In these first chapters we meet Shera, who is a sleepy sociopath with a penchant for murder. Our introduction to her is really high-impact as we get to see not only her cold, ruthless side but also her protectiveness of people who grow to mean something to her. We also get our first look at the Elder Empire and at this point I'm not sure why it's called that but it seems like all the Elders are gone? I'm not sure.
