From Trauma to Transformation – How To Make Our Political Crisis A RebirthAired Tuesday, 23 April 2019, 5:00 PM EST / 2:00 PM PSTInterview with Author and Political Consultant Eleanor LeCain“If crisis precipitates evolution, the chances of precipitation are 100%.” — Swami BeyondanandaMy comedian colleague Will Durst proclaims that the body politic is suffering from PTSD — President Trump Stress Disorder. While the trauma is palpable, it’s also important to recognize — as one of my correspondents recently shared — “beneath every festering pus hole is a deeper infection.”In this next phase of the seemingly never-ending election season, we are once again being diverted to personalities and surface issues — when the deeper crisis is demanding to be addressed. From climate change to political climate change, we are called upon to move past divisive rhetoric to a unifying vision. As Van Jones pointed out several years ago, Martin Luther King’s famed speech was “I have a dream” not “I have a complaint.”So other than wanting Trumpty Dumpty to have a great fall, what DO the sane and reverent majority want? What is our dream, our vision for a healthy future? Where is the opportunity in the crisis, and how do we unify to bring it forth? Our guest this week, Eleanor LeCain, is particularly suited for this conversation. She is both a visionary and political strategist, who advises candidates on all areas of domestic policy and campaign strategy. She has extensive experience in successfully electing progressives at the federal, state and local level. She currently serves as the top Issues advisor to the presidential candidate Marianne Williamson. In 2016, she was the National Director of the She Wins We Win campaign to elect Democratic women to Congress. In 2014, she was campaign manager for Marianne Williamson for Congress in Los Angeles. In 2012, she helped Elizabeth Warren win a seat in the US Senate. Her book, Breakthrough Solutions: How to Improve Your Life and Change the World by Building on What Works, has an Introduction by the Dalai Lama. The book profiles key innovations in areas such as education, crime, green jobs, and ending poverty. Her articles are published widely from the New York Times to the Boston Business Journal to Le Monde in Paris, France. She hosts her own show, All Together Now, on PRN radio. If you’re seeking a visionary yet grounded approach to a unifying and forward-thinking movement, please tune in this Tuesday, April 23rd at 2 pm PT / 5 pm ET if you’re ready to be educated, inspired and activated! http://omtimes.com/iom/shows/wiki-politiki-radio-show/You can listen right here: http://wikipolitiki.com/archives/To find out more about Eleanor LeCain and her radio show, please go here: http://prn.fm/hosts-ellen-kamhi-2To read her most recent article, go here: https://prospect.org/authors/eleanor-lecainOne more thing… How YOU and WE Can Make a DifferenceHave you noticed that regardless of which of the two political parties you vote for, neither of them seem to be willing to confront Monsanto and agribusiness?
