Election (2005)
from Sequelcast 2 and Friends Hosted by Mat Bradley-Tschirgi
Hosts Mat Bradley-Tschirgi, Thrasher, and Alex Miller discuss Election. Lok (Simon Yam) and Big D (Tony Leung Ka-fai) compete to see who gets elected as the Triad's new Chairman. A political gangster movie, Johnnie To's Election combines tense dialogue, shocking bursts of violence, and a few comedic moments into one smashing feature. Dark, contemporary, and fast-paced, Election wipes away a lot of cliches of gangster movie while creating a few of its own.
