Prime Minister Mark Carney will call an election on Sunday, CBC News sources have confirmed. The major party leaders have already started campaign style outings. Carney himself made an announcement about a GST break for first-time house buyers. Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre pledged today to create pre-approved permits for major resources or energy projects called "shovel ready zones." But they both need something first – to get elected.Also: Canada is facing a 100 per cent tariff on canola oil and canola meal, and a 25 per cent duty on aquatic products and pork.
