Electric Infrastructure and Reliability.  The host for this show is Guillermo Sabatier.   The nation of Pakistan recently suffered a systemwide blackout of most of its electrical grid.  Though it has been mostly restored, the root cause analysis is well underway but early indications point to a frequency collapse.  The question that looms now is how this can happen again a second time in only a matter of months since the previous disturbance.  Some of the common causes of blackouts are discussed, as well as how system operations training with simulation can help prepare personnel in charge of running the grid.
