Sherlock Holmes made “elementary” cool. The most seemingly complex situation is rendered elementary once you have the right perspective on it. Pickleball is much the same. It is a complex interrelationship of rules that create a framework in which we play the game. But, once you understand them, then navigating the game becomes elementary. What happens to many of us is that we try to match perceived complexity with complexity in our game. We want to learn that shot which will unlock the game for us. There is no such thing. Once you see the game, you will understand that it is won not with the fancy or complex shots. It is won by better execution of the simple shots. That is the key to this game: elementary.
