Elementary Principles: Repentance from Dead Works

from Word of Life Study Series · host Brice C. Craig

Send us Fan MailWelcome to the "Elementary Principles about Christ" series- “Repentance from Dead Works”. Religion is an invention of mankind as a means of elevating themselves before God. Rooted in pride and self-righteousness, it becomes hostile towards grace and repentance. The problem is that religious traditions are relative fabrications that are self-serving and run contrary to God’s grace and truth found in the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. Hebrews 6:1, “not laying again the foundation of repentance from acts that lead to death...”o   The margin of my bible says “or from useless rituals”o   YLT - “reformation from dead works” others say “useless works, dead formalism”James 1:26-27 If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless. Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.  Please check out my website: www.wordinspire.org Support the show
