Elementary Sufi Course Full Audio EP:07 Part:#2

from ALRA TV · host Sufi Master Younus AlGohar

Courage and Determination Continuing on from Chapter 7, Lesson 6 'Backbiting is equal to eating the flesh of your dead brother.' Quran 49:12 Now, what qualifies to be backbiting? One time, Aisha (ra) told Prophet Mohammad (saw), ‘Your other wife, Hafsa, is very short. Why do you spend time with her?’ Prophet Mohammad (saw) very sternly said, ‘Aisha, repent. You are backbiting about Hafsa’. She said, ‘I didn’t say anything wrong. She really is short’. Prophet Mohammad (saw) replied, ‘I know, that is why I called it backbiting. Otherwise, if she didn’t have this flaw, it would be an allegation, not backbiting’. Prophet Mohammad (saw) said, 'If someone has the flaw in them and you mention it in their absence that is backbiting,' His Divine Eminence Gohar Shahi never required any commitment from anyone. He never asked for donations for this gift that He is granting humanity and what did these religious clerics do in return? Nothing for except fabricating stories, slandering, placing false allegations and fatwas upon HDE Gohar Shahi.  When the religious clerics speak against HDE Gohar Shahi, they may say, ‘Why do you follow Him? There are so many fatwas issued against Him’, it is the responsibility of a Sufi to tell them, ‘There were 500 fatwas issued against Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jillani (ra) too; fatwas do not prove someone is Batil (false)’.  Now if someone develops a bad conjecture for HDE Gohar Shahi on the basis of these fatwas, then they will have to do the same for Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jillani (ra) as well as Moinuddin Chishti (because the religious clerics don’t view them in a good light either). Sufi Master Younus AlGohar declares, 'Your entire spiritual system will be protected by what I am teaching you in light of the Quran and Prophetic Traditions.' 'O' Momineen, when someone comes to you with any news - before you pass it on - verify to make sure it's true; for he could be lying.' Quran 49:6 If someone comes and says there are verdicts of Kufr against HDE Gohar Shahi, make sure to investigate and see if we fit into the criteria of the truth or not. This is very important.  There is an English proverb, ‘If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen’. The Sufi path is not easy; on this path, both the world and God test the seeker. The world will not let you live easily or breathe freely and God will definitely test your mettle.  Sufi Master Younus AlGohar declares, 'Shortly after meeting HDE Gohar Shahi, I heard HDE Gohar Shahi say, ‘God likes those who never give up’. When I heard this, I started to ponder, ‘What does God want us to do, why does he want people who never give up?’ One should always pay close attention to what the Spiritual Mediator says and try to understand what it is that He is saying. So on this occasion, I too tried to understand what it meant. That is when I found out that there are so many hurdles on this path that only a determined man can progress steadily on this path.  If a novice Sufi says, ‘I give up, there are too many people opposing me. I can’t upset my father, my mother, brother, friends, etc’, they must ask themselves, ‘Can I upset God?’ Remember, no matter how much a mother loves her child, the mother’s love will not grant one salvation and God says he loves his creation more than 70 mothers combined. So all these physical relations are not relations of the soul; they are the relations of your body. They are for this world only. Tell me the name of the mother of the soul. Does the soul have a brother or father? When the novice Sufi walks on this path of enlightenment of the heart and soul, he/she will face opposition. Then they can say to their father, ‘Your relationship is with my body and I am learning Sufism to strengthen my heart and soul because God has demanded that on the Day of Judgement if you want to be successful, you must bring forth a Secured Heart’.  Quran 26:88-89 says it very clearly
