The Spiritual Heart  When the heart of a common man is enlightened, he is God’s representative on earth and in the heavens.  The Bible states that Lord Jesus Christ is the light of God on earth and in the heavens. ‘I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life’. John 8:12 In the Quran, God said that God is light of earth and heaven. The example is that of a flask of glass and there is a lamp within it and it is lit up. This entire description in the Quran is exclusively in regards to Prophet Mohammad (saw)’s breast and by extension, every Devout Believer and Sufi. Prophet Mohammad (saw) and Lord Jesus Christ have the divine monopoly on such elevated spiritual status. No man could possibly ever think of competing with such people or knowing what they are enjoying. However, it is necessary to be grateful that in a sense, through spirituality, God is opening the gateways of his divine bounty. He is allowing people to taste the Agape Love which is shining in the hearts of Jesus Christ and Prophet Mohammad (saw). The Spiritual Heart and the sub-spirits of the heart are mentioned in the Quran and these references will give a clear understanding of the truthfulness of the spiritual knowledge. What transpires onto the heart of a Sufi comes from either the Quran, Bible, Torah or directly from God. Sufism is not a fabricated religiosity; it is the mother of all religions.  There are 73 different denominations in Islam. Their reliance as the source of knowledge is heavily dependent on what they understand from different interpretations and translations of the Quran. Despite being mistranslated, they are widely accepted.   But as a seeker embarks upon the Sufi path, the source of knowledge changes. Instead of the aspirant, it is the aspirant’s heart which becomes the student and God becomes the teacher. In the second level of spirituality, when the heart is facing God, it commences its spiritual journey. Enlightenment of the heart is not confined to the heart being able to pronounce God’s name. When the Spiritual Heart is enlightened, all the spiritual senses of the heart are awakened also. The senses of hearing, speaking and seeing are revived in the heart. The only source of knowledge and spiritual grace the heart relies upon is God and what comes from God. Such a heart is no longer dependent on the books because it only knows the Lord.  Prophet Mohammad (saw) said, ‘I am the city of knowledge and Ali is the gateway to me.’  There is no hint of adulteration or modification in the knowledge from God. The knowledge from God is pure. It starts to descend onto the human body and the understanding of it transpires onto the screen of the heart. The Spiritual Heart has this God-gifted ability to translate what comes from God into faith and practice. Half of this understanding goes towards strengthening one's faith. The other half goes towards one's character and into the practice of the religion and Sufism so that one becomes pure and there is not a hint of a fraudulent character. The Sub-Spirits of the Spiritual Heart The body works like a base unit and the sub-spirits of the heart - Qalb e Saleem (The Secured Heart), Qalb e Muneeb (The Heart Directed to God) and Qalb e Shaheed (The Witnessing Heart) - are the angelic satellites.  GPS (Global Positioning System) is possible because there are satellites in space. In a similar way, when the heart is connected to God, it works like a satellite. Everyone who flocks around the enlightened heart will come under the sight of God. When God looks down to see where the divine energy is coming up to him from, he sees it neither in the mosques, temples, churches or synagogues, but rather in the heart of a Devout Believer.  The three sub-spirits of the Spiritual Heart are mentioned in the Quran. 'And on that day, neither your sons nor your wealth will benefit you. Successful will be the one who brings forth a Secured Heart.' Quran 26:88-89
