Elevator

Single by Brendan Bonsack The elevator wants to talk Beyond your destination It's been listening To everything we have to say Number 10 is breaking up Number 4 is so in love They miss their dog so much In Number 68 Number 99 forgot The birthday for her brother Number 30 is still hiding The illness from his mother The elevator wants to talk But only knows the words For up and down Floor and ground If there is fire Please do not use Number 1 travels to The rooftop every day 17 takes vegetables To 5 and 88 27 has a lot Of passion over trains And was so lonely till they found That 40 has the same 13 has a symphony She's humming all the time 14 wants to hum along But is really very shy 209 only goes Outside before the light Worry beads in fingers And mumbling all the ride The elevator wants to talk But only knows the words For up and down Floor and ground If there is fire Please do not use 70 lights up a smoke Always apologising The voices change The floors remain And the rents keep rising For notes and lyrics, visit brendanbonsack.com/songs/elevator © Brendan Bonsack 2025
