Eli Coberly - War In The Hearts Of Men

from Tell Me Your Story · host Richard Dugan

https://www.elicoberly.com/ War, Competition, Subjugation. It’s the engine that’s run the world since the dawn of agriculture. The sublimation of the feminine and illusory principle of separation. In Eli Coberly’s powerful War in the Hearts of Men, he traces how we arrived at a world where men feel compelled to dominate, to hide their tenderness and compassion, to show their toughness and to propagate war—and how this is leading the planet directly down a path of self-destruction. But this book isn’t a sociological treatise. Eli’s quest didn’t come from sitting in a library studying history. It began with his own harrowing experience as a teenage paratrooper, with seeing and experiencing needless neglect, emotional abuse, physical battering and loss of life stemming directly from this societal conditioning. But that was just the starting place. Eli Coberly’s quest went deep into the heart of man’s soul and symbolism—beginning with the Mayan culture—as seen through its stone-carved symbols and hieroglyphs throughout Central and South America. And then he began seeking echoes of the war-infused collective imagery in the cradle of civilization and among the ancient Egyptians. Though his extensive travel in the Americas he seeks answers from the art, architecture and perhaps even the plant medicine that embodied the Mayan cosmovision. And that he feels is today still driving our underlying destructive collective subconscious…keeping us from the truth of our oneness and unity, from living lives of compassion, collaboration and ecological salvation. And the full integration of the healing feminine into the world. He shows that when searched for it, numerology, symbology, vibrational resonance and sacred geometry all demonstrate that the shaman, wise men and perhaps some unique race that appeared in many seemingly unconnected places found a direct way to access the timeless knowledge potentially available to all in the Akashic records, or the energetic archives—whether on their own or via plant induced. He draws parallels between these civilizations and the Vedic and Buddhist wisdom of the East. And therein he sees the salvation. Besides his own curiosity…why spend his life in travel following these clues? Says Eli: “Transformation through mythological symbolism can unlock our perception of who we think we are and propel us into who we are destined to become. I believe that humanity’s struggles have taken place so that we might become closer to our essence.” Eli Coberly is a world traveler and seeker of truth through adventure. At 17, he left his small Pacific Northwest town to fulfill his dream of becoming an Army paratrooper. At 20, he was honorably discharged and began his search for a new dream. It began unfolding with a yoga practice that started to unwind the PTSD and programming from his traumatic Army experience. War in the Hearts of Men chronicles his adventures from the mock battlefields of Ft. Bragg and deserts of Saudi Arabia, to the hidden jungle pyramids to sacred caves to the ceremonial rituals with Mayan priests and more—and the answers that came with those exploits. When not on his hunt for answers that drive mankind toward enlightenment and peaceful coexistence, Eli is a yoga therapist in Northern California.
