Ahab wants Naboth’s vineyard, Jezebel arranges Naboth’s murder, and Ahab does nothing to stop her. Their unchecked power seems to place them beyond justice, but it does not. God’s patience ends, even after repeated warnings, and the deaths He foretold show that His promises cannot fail. That same faithfulness grounds hope for guilty people.
