Elijah Saunders Seeks Fifth Year | Ohio State Buckeyes Basketball News

Elijah Saunders, Maryland’s former forward and a savvy transfer who’s played at San Diego State, Virginia, and now College Park, is back in the portal—but this time it’s legal drama: a court ruling could grant him a fifth year of eligibility. After starring for Maryland last season with solid scoring and sharp shooting from deep, he’s hoping the injunction affecting 2022 recruits will give him one more shot at college hoops—even if it means leaving Maryland, where coach Buzz Williams didn’t keep scholarships open for transfers. With his career on the move and his future hanging on a courtroom decision, Saunders is betting everything on the law to extend his basketball life.
