Elina

ELINA Elina was a lady who came to some of our gigs. She laughed and cried ALOT, held the hand of whoever she was talking to, so people avoided her. But she truly FELT music, was awake. One day she pulled out an old business card with her name and letters on it, said 5 years earlier she'd been a surgeon, married with a big home then illness cost her everything, changed her, she was full of sadness but bliss too. I aspired to her openness, wondered if it had all made her greater in a strange way. Written by Elizabeth Geyer / all copyrights reserved - recorded by Russell Finch. Jonathan Zwartz, bass, Nic Cecire, drums, Carl Dewhurst, guitar, Elizabeth, piano, flugel/ trumpet. Elina takes your train of thought when she blows into the room They'll never see that ragged calling card but I can see their thought balloon don't look now she comes our way anything but save us from Elina She's spilling all their sifted words and playing hostage with the ladies hands partition smiles hold out till they wipe them on their backs don't look now she comes our way anything but save us from Elina You think I haven't heard your 'there but for the grace of God'? Well look around you 'cause maybe I am here with all the grace of God I've just outgrown the guards that surround you They're running through their neighbours minds and dumbing down their 'dumb' desires with excuses wide as the world through Elina's eyes don't look now she comes our way anything but save us from You think I haven't heard your 'there but for the grace of God'? Well look around you 'cause maybe I am here with all the grace of God I've just outgrown the guards that surround you.
