Elizabeth Kupferman - The Irreverent Grief Guide: How to F*cking Survive Months 1-3, Eating Disorders, and Doing the Work

from The One Day At A Time Recovery Podcast · host Arlina Allen

Hey Friends! Thank you for downloading the podcast, my name is Arlina, and I'll be your host. So, it's with a heavy heart that I share the news, we lost a good friend in our community. We affectionately called him "Big Chris". He was not only big in stature, but he had a bigger than life personality. He had a wicked sense of humor and a heart of gold. If he got up to speak at a meeting, you knew it was going to be good because he was both hilarious and profoundly wise. He was guest #24 on the podcast, and I had to go back and hear his voice again. It was so bittersweet to listen to him tell his story, but I'm forever grateful I had the chance to record that conversation. I'll leave a link to that episode in the show notes, or you can do a search for Big Chris on the website, at odaatchat.com Episode #24 Big Chris - Sober 29 years, Cocaine, Alcoholism, Dealing with Depression and Sponsorship Click here to listen: http://bit.ly/2DKa7pw  Today my guest is Elizabeth Kupferman, who happens to be a grief counselor, and she's the brilliant creator behind the popular IG account, @advancedbitches (she's one of us, y'all).  Considering how we just lost a friend, I thought it was perfect timing to speak with Elizabeth and discuss her book, "The Irreverent Grief Guide: How to F*cking Survive Months 1-3". At one point or another, we all need to learn to deal with grief. And if your heart is hurting from grief right now, I hope you find some relief. So without further ado, please enjoy this conversation, with Elizabeth!
