Elk Grove has a lot to like, but none is because of the mayor or city council

Since our esteemed elected officials constantly profess their love for Elk Grove, let's consider what makes our city desirable. Our geography and climate are the most significant selling point. We are halfway between the San Francisco Bay Area, with its cultural attractions, and Lake Tahoe, which has year-round recreational activities. We love the mild winters and Mediterranean weather, and the delta breezes are a natural summertime air conditioner. Our public schools are not highly rated nationally or statewide but offer a solidly average education. And we do have two fines nearby universities. Sorry, CNU, you're not included. Finally, we get electricity from the Sacramento Municipal Utility District, not the greedy PG and E. Elk Grove has a lot to like, but none is because of the mayor or city council.
