Elks vs Blue Bombers Showdown
from Canada News Today | 2 Min News | The Daily News Now!
The Edmonton Elks are on fire, starting 2-0 for the first time since 2019 and chasing a rare 3-0 start dating back to 2017. Quarterback Cody Fajardo insists this is a new, winning standard. Justin Rankin, leading the CFL in rushing with nearly nine yards per carry, is the engine behind their success. Winnipeg, struggling to stop the run, faces a major test against Rankin — especially with former Elks lineman Jake Ceresna now on their defense. Adding intrigue, the Blue Bombers have brought back Dru Brown, a seasoned QB who could shake things up. Thursday night promises a high-stakes showdown: can the Elks keep rolling, or will Winnipeg’s revamped defense and veteran QB make them pay?
