Elle Simone Scott joins Joe & Will from the booth!

from WEEI/NESN Jimmy Fund Radio-Telethon

As a cast member/chef on the television series “America’s Test Kitchen,” and host of its companion podcast “The Walk-In,” Elle Simone Scott delights in sharing her expertise and recipes. The Boston-based celebrity chef and food stylist is also a role model, as founder and president of SheChef, Inc., a professional networking organization for fellow women chefs of color seeking success in the food and beverage, media, and hospitality industries. Elle found a new doctor once she arrived in Boston, got another ultrasound, and learned she had a cyst with cancerous concerns on her right ovary. Her doctor referred her to Dr. Michael Muto at Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center and was diagnosed with stage I ovarian cancer. She had surgery to remove the right ovary and fallopian tubes, alongside chemotherapy. Elle went into remission for about 5 years until it came back in 2020 as recurrent ovarian cancer in her bowel and lower bladder. She went through more surgery and chemotherapy, and is now on an immunotherapy clinical trial, which has slowed her cancer’s progression.  She tells her story from the WEEI Red Sox booth with Joe Castiglione and Will Flemming.
