Even the most optimistic Duke fan would have had a hard time imaging the Blue Devils host a game in the Super Regional of the NCAA Baseball Tournament this year. But that’s what will happen, for the first time ever, this weekend at Jack Coombs Field in Durham. A season that started with a three-game sweep against Stanford could lead to the Blue Devils going to the College World Series for the first time since 1961. It continues the upward trajectory of the program under head coach Chris Pollard. Elliott Jarnot is a sportswriter for the Duke Chronicle that followed the Blue Devils this season.
