We saw Infinity War, like you did, and everyone else in God's creation. And so we're going to jump in and talk a little bit about our thoughts and review this movie if that's possible. For those of you who have not seen the movie, if that's possible, save this for later. Well we're going to talk a little bit about the movie with no spoilers and then we'll let you know when you should add us to the watch later.
Yeah, so don't leave yet. So let's jump in with the initial thoughts about Infinity War, no spoilers. I'll start, I think it was worth the hype. They put a real emphasis on the fact that this is 10 years in the making and the movie pays homage to that in its own narrative structure, but also within its own cosmetic foundation from the Marvel Studios logo and the I-O in studio becoming a 10 and it being like this is it.
We're bringing everything to the table. We're bringing everything to the forefront, everything to the table that we built towards over the last 10 years. Here it is, hope it measures up and it does, it delivers. That's my thought.
Yeah, I agree. It's somehow impossible seeing that it could. I was so nervous that it wouldn't feel like it lived up to the hype and it totally did. It's a monumental achievement.
I don't know how they did it because you don't, like every other movie that brings so many characters that you feel like someone gets shortchanged or someone's character's not explored and they find a way to get everybody in who appears in the movie. And introduce the new characters and sufficiently, at least to my view, make them interesting and compelling enough to justify their existence. Right. This movie runs it's two hours and 36 minutes long.
You can't have everybody get an origin story if you're introducing four new characters, if not more. I'm glad they didn't and I'm glad they chose the characters they did. This is in spoilers that the Black Order is in the movie as Thanos' children. Those characters don't get origin stories nor do they require them and I think it was actually great they chose those characters because there is such a little character depth for them and yet at the same time the characters themselves are so unique.
You see them and you understand what they're about. Yes. And it works. Right.
Like Corbus Glade doesn't say a lot in this movie but he's so distinct looking and has this real like direction about him and his connection to another character is established through dialogue that you're like, okay, that's fine. Also I don't care about like what Corbus Glade's journey is going to be. So fine. But like Ebony Moi, he has lines, he has mannerisms, I get his character.
You get them instantly. You get what he's about. Right. And yeah, so we don't need to like find out what plan he comes from and who he loves, who he's lost, where he's going.
You know, so that manages to work even without like the conventions of like, oh, well if we're just gonna film, we have to show all this stuff. No, they know what villain we're here for and they give him his do. Yeah. So many people that I've seen in so many different movies all had their own moment and they were great.
Yeah. I didn't think that was possible to pull off in one movie and have it be cohesive. I thought it would be jumbled. It's not.
It tells a great story and when it moves from plot line to plot line to tie everything together, it does it in a really good way. Yeah, just when you think like, okay, we spend enough time focusing on these characters doing the story, they immediately jump to the next one. And so it manages to juggle all those characters and all those plots, thankfully because all the plots are unified by the fact that they're all going towards a single. They don't muddy the waters by being like, no, we're gonna do this.
Okay, so there's a giant blue lace in the sky. You gotta take out the blue laser. But there's also like infantry guys and they're gonna take out those. No, but it's all in pursuit of one goal and just that that goal has multiple facets and those characters all address those facets without getting bogged down in their own, you know, minutia and characters.
And without like them having to narrate everything. Yeah, no, the exposition is carrying out through character interactions and story as opposed to like monologuing or text. Much like everybody else I was worried about this movie, but what I was really afraid of was that they'd be so worried about juggling the characters and giving them cool moments that the movie would suffer overall. It would lack like depth.
And so like I was like, when we left the theater, I remember being super excited and like, I had like this adrenaline rush from actually having seen the film, which is like, for me, it was a good sign. But then I was like, but I can't judge it for right now because the fact is like, when I get up tomorrow, what if I don't feel the same way because the adrenaline rush will be gone? And I'll be honest with you, I feel like I just saw it now even like at this moment, I've seen like 24 hours ago. Yeah, so fresh.
It has nothing to do with like the cool moments or the action sequences or the funny dialogue or whatever, like overall it was just so well handled that like, yeah, all the feelings I had were absolutely correct. I think the thing that motion pressed me, I just had this thought was that they think about it in the movie. There wasn't like a single joke that didn't land. There wasn't a single thing that was annoying.
There wasn't a single thing where I was like, oh, I could give her that. Like everything in the movie to me was like, it was good that it was there. It had value and was it's always necessary to make the movie work. There was nothing that I thought was superfluous, which is like, I don't remember the last time I saw.
Right. One of almost three hours long. Yeah. And I think it's a good to remember or to remind folks who haven't seen it yet that don't forget, like there's a huge ensemble cast and maybe some of your favorite characters won't have like all the spotlight, but they're there and like, you gotta do something.
Right. And like the fact is at the end of the day, like there is a certain number of characters who really started this all and like, this is their combination. Yeah. Yeah.
So if you really like, if your favorite character is like a secondary character or one of the other movies, yeah, you might feel like your character got you. I guess we could say like, if your favorite character is Pepper Potts, you were going to be just entered. But even she has some lines and some character depth and motivation and you could tell that like, there is setup and something will pay off in the next one. Yes.
With her. Yeah. The only other thing I would say is this movie builds heavily upon the continuity that they've built throughout the movie. So if you were selective about seeing some of the Marvel films and you skipped a specific genre or one of the movies in between like something somewhere, I'd say take the time, go back and watch all the films just so you have that knowledge going into this.
I think that's funny. I'm literally told a coworker today, she could just go see it. She's only seen two Marvel films. Oh, it kind of depends on the person.
And I was like, I think you'll piece it together legitimately. Two movies literally get explained between dialogue for two different characters from their respective franchises. They literally sum up each of their own movies at each other in the span of maybe 15 seconds. Yeah.
And for me, like it depends on the individual. Like if you're really into this, you know, then yeah, I'd say go back and get because you want to get all the references on it. You've seen them already. But if you're just like, you want to see it because that's what the whole world is doing right now.
And if you're telling the waters of like, you know, of like superhero genre, just go see it. Well, then you can work it backwards and be like, oh, that's what they mean. And if you're like, if you want to criticize it like that, where you're like, well, they should be able to, a movie should stand on its own. Like if you're going to see the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and you didn't watch any other Harry Potter movie, if you're going to watch the Deathly Hallows Part 2, that movie, both those movies make no effort to contextualize what's happening and bring you into the speed the way that this movie manages to do anyway and still manage to not be a bogged down by exposition.
So before you ruin the movie for yourself, add us to your watch later list. Yeah. So yeah, we'll be waiting. So and trust me, you're going to want to talk about this movie with somebody.
So why not us? I've never seen the movie. That's right. So let's jump in.
All right, spoilers. Boom, whoa. Wow. All right.
So favorite moment spoilers go. Yeah, because they're the whole thing. I'm moving to that. I can probably call up with one.
Okay. Okay. Okay. I got it.
Oh, I was going to be clapping. Okay. No, not that. I was going to say no wrong, but it sounds going somewhere else.
We'll do the one south. I was going to say, don't you really cast the Crimson Side. No, no, no, no. Hey, that person from me probably didn't like that.
Yeah, that was really awesome. No, I was going to say my moment where I actually like was one of the people was like, I clapped my hands. When the Thor returns the field, that betrayal. I was like, yeah.
I don't clap at movies. Yeah. I'm going to insult some people. I think it's dumb.
You're in the theater. The people, the director's not there. No, I'm not. They're not getting any feedback from it.
It's all these members get hyped up. I get that. And I think I was almost like, look, just enjoy it. It's fine.
It's like when the person goes, they're behind the door. Shut up. I don't clap at movies I clap during this movie at that moment cuz I was like hot damn This is great. Yeah, like I don't know what it was like so many people made amazing entrance I'm gonna cool my way for some reason in the heat of that battle just him returning with those with those two It's a teenage group first of all.
Yeah, I don't know. I was just like I've always wanted to see that The image of the by froth yeah, yeah, well what was great about that was I didn't know it was gonna happen Yes, because there was they could have been going and Like it might have like it might have been saved up for like they have something in the next movie, right? So like I wasn't anticipating the thing with show up. They actually surprised.
Yeah, I mean I do so much better. Yeah, just oh Right, I agree. Also, I love that rockets on earth now. Yeah, I can't wait to see him find raccoon And by the way, this is like spoilers not spoilers Doesn't matter this way but like they did a phenomenal job like in the few lines of characters had it times capturing that character entirely I had plenty of lines, so that's not really fair But it is only one of his only lines was his interaction with winter soldier it captured it Yeah, why do I is gone wanting to get his arm?
Yeah, there's a reaction where he picks him up I'm gonna circle and rockets fine with it. Yeah, that was dope. Yeah, I believe it Yeah, okay. Yeah, I don't know what my favorite moment was because I enjoyed so many of them Yeah, there was a moment for me that stood out when the when the team Iron Man was trying to strip it on it from Venice And my heart was racing yeah, and I'm like that never happens the fear for me Yeah, I never emotionally invested in a movie and I don't know what's going to happen I'm going and and I know there's another movie that stars and I know they're not going to man But I'm still like in that moment and like the tension and the weight was shot and the way that like everybody like the way That led up to that sequence I'm just like yeah I was in that moment I felt like Concerned intention and everything you feel when you go to see a movie that you have no expectations for and that was like a purely Earned moment that stood out to me where I'm like where I was like freaking out and I'm like I'm really freaking out I was freaking out man.
It was really it was intense. Really really cool Yeah, so that will fight yeah fight with with that was amazing because they kept coming up with new ways to like keep the battle going Like the whole time they're on the back foot but like they turn around a little bit down there and you're like maybe maybe they have a chance Yeah, you couldn't see how they possibly could but like they come up with ways like that's their heroes They get building yeah, yeah, yeah, like they get a little closer a little closer. Yeah, and it comes in a point in the movie where it's feasible He could lose the gauntlet for a bit. Yes, he doesn't have all the stones And it's like we'll naturally lose it now when you get it back Then you get the stones because it would be where the rest of the stones are right like I can see that completely happening So it was just really cleverly placed.
Yes, so they've been any later Or even like there's no way to get the phone like yeah, it was not happening I guess as we go through the conversation after the movie we're gonna be able to find a few moments where it's like yeah Like cuz I love that movie but they were a couple moments where I was like, yeah, one of them it was Iron Man not his character Not his motivations not as just literally physically Iron Man I don't like the look of the suit it looked too cartoony because it could do anything It was narratively fine. I was like yeah, it's like whatever fine I just like like the visual I didn't like visual can being able to literally do anything at any time for any circumstance Like he was too, but it was not that he was too prepared But like he was able to like when he's when he's or more into a thing. I'm like, all right. It's just like Batman like I always got a thing Yeah, but like that's his next impression I know but I kind of for that for that I was like Iron Man started this whole thing with the suit It was one thing that could do a few set things.
I kind of wanted to see that I don't want to see like Iron Man fan of what he's like. I don't have like this is all I've got yeah, but we could do anything It felt a little like yeah again not really complaining I'm just saying like that was a moment where I was like I was like okay Well, you know whatever had a problem with that because it made sense to me because as he pointed out several times like Thanos has been in his head since the beginning right giving you know Avengers so he's been ready for this. Yes, he's been working towards right Also, it makes Iron Man three a little more satisfying explains why he was like eventually making different suits Yeah, yeah, and I really been like tinkering and adding because the suit has been getting more and more and more elaborate Yes, and over the top since since the beginning so it wasn't natural progression Yeah, I know what you mean about like every single scenario We had a thing for well, and it wasn't even like that he had a thing We're like I don't think for that. I'll take out my backstroke.
Oh, it was no that he that he became that thing You know like he put his foot down and then it became a big foot Oh, you know, he needed to shoot a plasm bolt so his hand morphed into a cool looking gun It was like these are things that like I don't know I thought that they did a good job like recycling it because like yeah I think it's not moving and then you saw his hand do the same You know what I mean? It works it works it's just like and if that were the case it would also been fun to know that's just me being nerd Where it's like in the 90s Iron Man cartoon show he could change his armor could literally physically change into different distinct types of armor Which is complete horseshit and cannot happen, but with the nanotech it should be able to approximate any version of the Iron Man suit So it's like oh we're going underwater my nanotech will create the underwater Iron Man action figure He put everything on the table like he did everything he possibly could get things that you would never have thought of yes And it wasn't enough. Yeah, the fighting styles of his other teammates He created a shield like a big hammer out of his hands like or really knew we could do that because he didn't civil war Like he told the computer to like study And then she paid off yeah, but without him saying out loud like I copied all your moves in civil war I was like you know, yeah, yeah, so that was my my grave I have one great one right one great and it could change in blue and release my grip is at the end when Hulkbuster armor is hanging out there and we see Bruce Banner's head in it And I don't know why like that moment like I've really shouldn't have been looking there That's like I was having a hard time with the rest of the scene. I just like it's not it's not lit correctly It doesn't look like he's in there.
He doesn't look because he's not there Like I just like why yeah, that was a weird way cuz I hope this are great. I had two grips Ant-man and Hawkeye not a movie and I'm not sure why I'm sure there's some reason I liked that I've explained it Well, they had an explanation. Yeah, but like what is the Marvel Studios reason right? I'm hoping that since Ant-man and the Wasp comes out next and in the Wasp takes place during or right before In the anymore and Hawkeye's in it.
Yeah, because they both took plea deals Yeah, I'm the government so like maybe they're avengers before the government now But they work to go on like secret Black Ops missions right and and wasp and Hawkeye are like going out into doing some messed up thing Yeah, mad report or something and they're like you can't go deal with the or they do anything war happens at the end of the movie They're like oh crap Everything and I think it also it's kind of smart because it affords them the opportunity to have a lot of like first meetups again in the second Yes, because you know that you're gonna have Characters who show up who haven't been a part of this. Yes. Yeah, and so you're gonna have that chance to recapture some of the magic From this first one. Yes.
There will be another team up movie. Yeah, it'll be a little bit different over team up So yeah, and they didn't oh sorry. I was gonna say they didn't swing under the road My hope is that it's not a con and that somehow Scott Lang was there the whole time. I like that I love that idea.
I think that's really fun. No, what no, because at some point he would have done something If you didn't see it would become tiny and he would have been swatted aside those things Yeah, I'm anyway got in a civil war moment We're like I mean from the comics where like Rockin and I just dived through Ant Man's chest and kills him I don't want to see that I don't see that but like I'm hoping he's not like super small and hiding out somewhere Yeah, like he's in the gauntlet song where he's learning to like They show in the next one that stuff. That's awesome. I'm down That would be cool like I said like I'm always like my original theory was that like Ant Man would go back in time and be like in All the move all the Marvel movies get like trying to like fix things and that he was always in them You just never saw him but now we're not so moving at least see where he's been Down bad.
I enjoyed the like rapport between strange and long. I enjoy strange in this movie way more than I did in So far all the other Marvel will be seen to be getting strange better than the years No, yeah, he was missing his gloves, but I didn't like yeah, because he had them in Thor Ragnarok Yeah, where did they go? I think we're too you just wanted to use the gloves on and Dr. Strange giving a toy start a whole lot I think giving each other it and like it was interesting because there were moments for me though That was just like not strange.
I'm so wouldn't be this belligerent. He's very belligerent. Yeah Like I was like you're like borderline too belligerent. Yeah, he was being as obtuse as they were in the comic from Newer I have a plan like what is it and he's like it's very basic.
I'm not gonna tell you everything Like come on and I can't say thing, you know at the end of the day It's like I think the like subtext is like, you know, and so he's like I think you should probably get that stone out of here It's like and where will I go right and where will I put yeah, there's more you could do to explain it? Yeah, I'm really you go Yeah, like he got don't he said yeah, he wrecked a whole planet to get one yeah You can't put it in the sun like I mean you put another dimension. Yeah, he should put in the mirror dimension Yeah, but he still had yeah, the mon aside still so maybe Yeah, he could just go like 70 to 26 like snuck it up bunker. It's still be there though Yeah, like they just can't go back in time again.
I don't know. Oh, no not in the bunker I mean like no doctor He's out in different times train with gay well in any case you can't man it works. Yeah, you know He is a jackass. Yeah, but you know what he is kind of a jackass Yeah, but it was like it was almost a little too far as why is he being so frustrated because they wanted a foil for Tony and solarhood and got there yes, and they both have facial hair.
Yes. Yeah, yeah They're both arrogant characters and an Ironman like we've more established that he's an arrogant dick Yeah, they're strange like you don't you have some of it. Yeah, but he was a little bit less of an arrogant dick in doctor Oh, no, he certainly was a little bit out of left field. Yeah, it's not necessarily like even though it was wrong It's just like it's not what you did already.
Well, really it was only wrong in that the whole universe was Danger in risk and that like he didn't explain himself. Yeah, like you cut a mottlegation Yeah, but you know say that he does it at least like my job is there Oh, yeah, no, I need to work with the people who can help fix it. Right. That's like trying to go alone Yeah, in for regular rock doctor.
It was also a bit of a death for and especially Like Jesus Christ could you just like stop for like a second fucking Thanos is coming man Jesus. Yeah, could you set your shit? It's a high the whole one I was feeling that way a little yeah a little bit We got great interaction when spider-man showed up those three are great together Yes, I was in the comments of strange and Peter Parker are great combination We established in the films that Peter Parker and Tony Stark are great combination Somebody in the freedom together and him kind of just being stuck in the middle. It's been like hey is great I yeah, that's that's like a pitch for swam and home coming to like cuz if you're gonna put like if you're gonna put like if Face four is team up movies dr.
Strange is being home to Really I love that when we meet the guardians that is so flawlessly handled because guardians look so different Yes, the other Marvel movies and they just seem to see we're just like now over here Yeah, and I like the music you because all movies beautifully scored by Alan so that's really this is phenomenal job I've been very critical of the Avengers score before but like it everything worked so freaking well There were only two songs. Yeah, and one of them is the black panther theme Yeah, but the other one is like a licensed song to establish the guardians the galaxy Yes, because that's how we established the guardians the galaxy is the reaction like pop song Yeah, and it was really cool to have that in there and not have a feel weird Yeah, it was a combination of that the overall look and that like cue. Yes space right. Yes That's where they are.
I was like that's genius you completely like set me into that mindset again I'm right back in the galaxy and then like as soon as reality hits them. I'm just like oh cool Yeah, it's perfectly we are leaving guard in the galaxy and joining yeah, so the Marvel Universe is hit them and reality doesn't just hit them For it's yeah, basically shakes them right out of their bubble and into the world. It's right by the way for in the Garden of the Galaxy is perfect match. Yep that that entire initial interaction with Rax and everybody Oh, yeah, especially with it works so much better with this version of Thor.
Yeah, then all part like it's been building to like Let's just make for like he's in the galaxy. Yes, and it works. Yes, this dude. He's not a dude.
You are dude Gold so it's just so it's so well done and Mantis being part of the crew now. It's like wall Yeah, she's really well. Yeah, they did a great job. She plays a very specific role in this whole thing She is definitely needed and they don't waste her.
No, you know, she's just like well, I will guard the ship for you No, she has a thing to do. Um, yeah, that's the perfect use of her Yes, we get Gamora of like having like great importance and like that makes sense. Yes before she does They really focus on that and Gamora's development in this movie was like leaps and bounds. They was and like I gotta tell you I'm sure the moment where Peter Quill is like man I should have killed my dad.
I'm curious. We got that's lost my way. Yeah, hello But I'm using her to build Thanos character because I think we should talk about that definitely the fact that like Thanos went from being What we see in the comments where it's just it's all for mr Steph it's all for his ego. It's all for you know, just Because you can To like having like a legitimate reason for doing things whether or not you agree with it or not That's not the point the point is his like culture being a villain comes from him thinking he's correct.
Yes Yeah, which is the best kind of yes Yeah, and it's like a concept you heard of right there's two people we had we just had less people right all our problems Would be fixed and that is like a seductive idea most people wouldn't go to the extreme So he is but if you think that like that could work And if you think that like well, I can make all these lives better if I just have fewer people right there is logic in what he's saying Yeah, you can't refute the fact that like yes, if there are fewer people there are more resources for everybody Yeah, but you can't justify how you get it. It's it's it's a yes Yeah, right, but it also like his then putting these reasons in frame like the desire to like help the universe Mm-hmm first of all gives him like there's compassion to some degree Yeah, but it also like makes or allows for the Gamora relationship with him to make more sense Yes, because there is something more to him right and like taking her I taking Gamora and almost putting her in the place of mr Steph yeah interesting yeah, yeah, you love something and it's more it's less random. Yeah, I Like what we love mr. Steph, but I still don't fucking know right Yeah, but everybody still is still superficial.
Yeah, whereas this is like he raised her right She loves her well, of course, but like his see why we see him also bring her into the fold and like even his compassion towards her There is kind of like why like why her out of all of them? I guess because she has a little bit of a slight fighting spirit, but like why did that elicit like a fatherly paternal type of feeling to Inside of him like he is Suddenly he's feeling and I imagine it I kind of just I kind of my brain that she was the first one Yeah, she's a child with him or he does that all the time and it's just like that's his thing like I mean he does All these children so yeah, he has like feeling that he wants to like have children And maybe like she's the only one that really like he actually like got actual like emotional feeling Yeah, he doesn't like care about maybe a lot of like no and he doesn't seem to care about the others what he did for her Yeah, so like it's a thing he does. Yeah, and it makes sense. Yeah, we didn't scare you talking about Gamora I understand how you didn't bring this up is one of your spoiler moments that blew your mind Hmm what is when we go to the planet?
Oh, and there's a certain character The movie and it's awesome. Yeah, what's that? Those came out of that field. Oh, yeah.
Yeah. No, I thought it was an entity I thought it was like one of the eternal words like is it death is this is this what we're gonna get dead and then it was Red skull and I'm like right for the quick second. That's my foot. Oh, that's what I'm gonna heart center for a quick second I was like it's gonna be a watcher.
Oh, it's really weird. We're gonna be weird We're told what I'm gonna watch her, but the fact we got Fixing one of their egregiousness Yeah, no, he was if you watch Captain very first venture again There's a moment he's holding he's holding the space stone and he just teleports into space You know, he's whole body basically like proudly by frosts out of the ship and Watch it like launches into space and it opens up a hole and you see how that's right Oh, they put him someplace because he's even the man's doesn't want to do these movies in fact like they just got character act To play he was leaving in this movie. He's not you know, we think it's just really doing his voice Oh, really? Yeah, I wonder cuz like I heard the voice and I'm like oh, you know, we've been yeah I could not put it together because I when I heard it I was like that sounds like you even but anything about you go weaving the movie and also it sounded a little off And I was like, oh, well, it makes sense if you would at least provide the voice because obviously red skulls Oh, see gee, it was fantastic, but I thought you'd even do that.
Well, you apparently even do that Well, we'll do his transformers 19 But that's kind of smart because like if you have you go weaving in the movie you would have known Red Skull was And I could somebody would have leaped or whatever the I call it. Yeah, and instead it's just like that Yeah, I know what we were yeah, and it was cool And now they can do anything with Red Skull they could leave him alone and never do anything again Yeah, there's the payoff or he comes back. Yeah, and now you're red skull and you're an actor who's not afraid to take it's paycheck and Yeah, it's a cool I guess before I think we've been trying for a while now. Yeah, we should talk about cap and his team They're great.
They fit in like really well in terms of the economy that they left behind. Yes. Yeah caps Yeah, yeah, it's a good adventure is hit the fact that he's no mad now Yeah, but no That's what it is. Yeah, it's fun It's sad because he just rips off all the things identifying him as who he was And his affiliations with the teams that he was like that defined him and that's sad He's a copy store and has a big here.
I was gonna say that's my favorite line of the movie Well, what's got a beard? He's got a beard because I was a beer line because they haven't seen each other forever. It's like New haircut As you've got my beard. That's how they greet each other.
I was like that. He's not like yeah. Oh, no He's like I mean you're having cool. Yeah, it works.
Yeah, that's fine. That was not like I thought it's a fine line I did not rank on my top line. You're the beard and understand Tiffany. Okay, there's a lot of great lines Because real beer right when you could grow up beer Tiffany.
I could be a beer. Yeah Yeah, yeah, I could have a big one go to Wakanda was great. I was like we're just here. Yeah, yeah, that's fine That's made sense.
Yes, I mean it was funny. It was super jazz in the theater when Tachala showed up He wore equally jazz and okoye showed up. I was like yay I love that moment when Steve and Tachala are both running into battle. Oh my god, and they're neck and neck and you're like Oh, yeah, that's cool.
Yeah, that's cool. Yeah, that's cool. Yeah, that was amazing And when his sister was like why didn't she just reprogram them in this? Yeah, and we're like well, it's because we didn't think of that.
Yeah, cuz we're like little geniuses like you Damn The compagant into like a me and Tony Stark couldn't come up with what you had yeah I'm the relationship between vision one that was handled really nicely. Yeah, they pretty much are just like a lot happened Since the last time yeah, and nobody wanted to see me with that anyway, so we're done great Yeah, like I'm care not gonna watch one and vision fall in love with each other we get it We got enough in the previous movies. Yeah, it didn't come out of no. No, yeah, yeah enough Yeah, I really appreciated it.
I appreciated her not being just crazy. Yes, it's so easy to do that Yeah, yeah, um, what she's crazy powerful. Yeah, and she did a lot in this movie Yeah, she wasn't there all that much when she was there and they made it count. Yeah, and she used her powers really expertly to remove her So Kobe accents which I thought was really interesting.
Yes She has a storms powers apparently so on and the movies of course she has the ability to just drop her accent progressively as the The movie's continue and so to start with always really good also because it was kind of like a fake suit accident. Yeah, yeah, it was All right, so does anyone else have any thoughts for I want to bring up the part of the ending? Okay, no good I just like oh um no cool stuff. It's great like everyone your homework is of course to let us know your favorite moment in the Comment down below because there's so much there's so much on pack we could do like a two hour episode We're just like okay, so this is the top of the scene and the scene because each scene is cool and fun Yes, like I'm happy to talk about any of them, but let's not waste your time No, and like it's just you want to think you have to go for yourself just know that we appreciated all of it and like yeah We're sorry, but a cool moment.
I think of another cool moment. Yes, like what? It's a time of effect. We're never gonna run a cool moment.
Exactly The the house just so witty yeah, and like but it's also like to be so meaningful Yeah, and they did that thing where they addressed the problem I've heard that people have from our movies where like there's a really serious moment and they punctuated with a little joke Yeah, undercuts the real seriousness of that moment And they did that at least three times in this movie, but when the stakes were the most dire they did not do that No, okay. Well, this is not the time for a laugh right now. Yeah, I really appreciate that's like that's exercising some It's almost a restraint. Yeah, that was really cool a movie that is basically understrained.
Yeah You got your heart cut out a lot in this movie. Yeah when vision is talking to Wanda and he's just like begging her Yeah, so not you have like you're the only person that can tell me. Yeah, and he's like I'm sorry. It's you.
Yeah That's like I'm really sorry, but you're standing like it has to be Yeah, yeah So let's talk about the end real quick and talk about the fact that a lot of characters are gone now from the Marvel universe Yeah, and I think a lot of them are not characters We thought we're going to be gone and there are a lot left that we thought would be yes Yes, we figured okay. Well the contracts are up for a few of these guys We'll see the end of cap we'll see the end of Thor was the environment. Oh none of them died Yeah, which I appreciate it because at the end of the day who are our original Avengers Yes, and for them to not be there at the culmination of their 10 year battle basically like it's inexcusable Yeah, yeah, I'm glad they were able to do that that worked out great I was wrong. I thought the snap of the fingers was going to be like figure it to and that Gamora says it in the trailer She's like he could just snap his fingers and have a life on earth at the end of my life universe And I'm like yeah, yeah, but he's not gonna literally do that like that was in the comments and it worked and it's fine It's don't think but like isn't and then they do it.
Yeah, I'm like, oh well shut my mouth I'm sorry. Yeah, like it works. It works in such a like govrenchingly like horrible way that it's like wow you really Figured I always do it make it wrong. Yeah, and the effect on the people like dying being unmade.
Yeah, it's really well done Yes, it's horrifying. It does it doesn't bleed to really want it to do You mean how that last vampire was not and she had the most beautiful death ever. Yeah, it's fine Don't worry. It's beautiful.
It's great Yeah, you know what I mean? Like they did it so well and like it having like happening at random moments and like seeing each of them go Yeah, we care about not the world and seeing the reaction from others I thought was phenomenal whether they'd be noticed or not like it was really sad that Falcon like disappeared nobody was there Yeah, I love Falcon Yeah, I was sad to see him go and that's what I thought was interesting I was so convinced that fuck your father was gonna take up the shield of Captain America and I like oh no Tiffany We're getting rid of both of them. Both the cap relations are gone. Yeah, it has to be cashed.
Yeah, did Bucky's gun go with him? No, okay, well he's gonna Then like Falcon's wings disappeared. Yeah, yeah, yeah Yeah, well, maybe it's your clothes, but nothing should hold it. Well, let's not get into this intricacies of how death works Exactly.
Yeah, I was decided to remove the card. They very obviously Again like Bucky and I'm like what yeah, but there are some characters like obviously you got rid of Wanda because she can unmake one of the gems Yes, she had the power to be able to remove gems and whatnot. We got to finish it. Yeah, she can't be here anymore same with strange I was sad to see him go because like by the end of the film I was so into his character and what he was doing I was just like he you have to get rid of him because he still has magic.
He still has access other dimensions. Yeah, he's gotta go He's got to go, right? I think people eventually I haven't read anything because I don't really think about it yet But like I think we're gonna have an issue with the fact that he let the time gem go like that Yeah, but I'm fine with it because he went through 14 million versions of that battle and only one of them Did they win and I have a feeling by the time he made the call to give him the gem? He already saw that they had not done the one that they wanted to and he's just like we're already going to lose and I'm going to die Like he knew he was gonna be on me and so he was like I can't let Tony die.
Yeah, see that's interesting I had a different term to I thought he saw that then I was gets the time in the one where they went Oh to be this way, okay And so like it was very fitting for him to die because like he was like he knew he was gonna die too Right, he like accepted it and that's funny Or he knew that everyone dies in the one where they you know not one was like I was a time gem But if I can change it so that Tony doesn't die then that's exactly changes the course That's because like I thought when he was like talking about the permutations about like what was about the habit It wasn't be long game. I thought it was just people just about on on Titan Yeah, like and so like I think I assumed he was only looking in terms of the time. Yeah, right That was the one way that we might be Yeah, maybe it was maybe he didn't see that much. We saw Tony started the lives.
Oh, I know I have to like say Yeah, I know that he lives and he helps to be found at the end maybe I mean, we don't know Yeah, no, no, that's right. They don't ever really cut it right after that So we can't see like that having discussion because obviously they would like what what did you see? Yeah, we don't see it. Yeah.
We don't see it I my intuition was that he lied to give them strength. Oh, there was no perpidation what I want But we have to fight it but there has to be because I have to win. Well, I know but I saw it we only see the point on Titan I think they wanted him there. Yeah, I really wanted to see him.
So we had a final battle. Which, who knows? I don't know. I don't know.
How's it going to go down? I don't know. Yeah. That's a big thing about this whole movie was I didn't know what they were going to do.
Yeah. And now I don't know what they're going to do. Right. And like, why does it want to know?
I don't want to know. I don't want to think about it. Obviously, but right now I just love the fact I don't know where they're going with this. Yes.
Um, just, you know, we'll just cover the last two. Obviously it was a terrible washing rocket. Loo's screwed again. No said.
Yeah. And the one in the game, everybody cried. Yeah. Which was like, I didn't see that coming.
Uh, yeah. Oh, it's not that coming. He just got here. Yeah.
Well, once I saw how many people were disappearing, I was like, they're going to be screaming. Because that's what's going to kill Tony the most. That's what they can feel like such an asshole. Right.
Right. But I wasn't convinced at that point that Tony was going to even make it. Oh, yeah. I was on the mindset of like, no.
Yeah. But I was also surprised they killed Starlord because I was like waiting for them to do the emotional payoff of like, so Peter dies. And then Starlord makes it and he's like, this is all your fault. Yeah.
That's true. Yeah. But we still get the emotional payoff of Tony being completely ruined as he would be. Yeah.
And alone. Yeah. And that's right. No, he's got a nebula.
Yeah. Let's see him. This chick is never fucking mad. It's just a sucko.
Hey. It's like, are you on my side? I don't understand. No, she's got a little of the show.
It was great in this movie. Yeah. Tom Holland did the phenomenal job. Yeah.
His death scene was really sad. And also like, I didn't like it because of how like real and raw and like sad it was. Because like the teenager dying, he didn't want to go and really made me sad to hear him. Like just kind of like crying and wishing that he wasn't going to go.
Yeah. No. It's a new Spiderman. He went from fighting the vulture to fighting a god.
Yes. The next one he fights Sam and it's gonna be really freaking lame. Or he's gonna be like, I can do this. I got this.
I mean, I, you know, I, I, I, yeah. The scene fight man died before. Yeah. And seeing him face death, especially the ultimate Spiderman, I'm like, you know, he's like, he satisfies and knew what he did.
Yeah. He was, he was saving other people. I guess in this case, that's like, he's like, he hasn't had many stresses. Yeah.
And it was, it was gut rushing. It's cool. Yeah. I mean, I, I know it was fear, but I, I, I determined a lot of his, like, anxiety.
Yeah. Or his reason for acting that way to being the regret of going. Yes. Tony Stark gave him every opportunity to not go.
Right. And he refused it. I think in that moment he was just like, I really should have listened to him. Yeah, but it's still a time.
He might have died, but maybe it's also the fact that maybe he didn't want Tony to see him die. Yeah. Maybe he knows it's like, I could have died somewhere else, but like now I'm doing it in front of him and he has to see it. He, he, I remember.
Yeah. Well, anyway, I don't like that. The only thing that I love that scene. It takes him so long.
Yeah. He's disappearing. He's so much longer. It's the name of Zachary.
Maybe. I don't know. I just like to, like, disappear, like, up to here. Yeah.
But it's just like, oh, come on. Like the one who's like most heart wrenching to see die. Yeah. You know, I'm happy with group two.
You were slowly disappearing into what was talking about. I think this is just kind of a little longer. Yeah, I thought I meant to like, I don't like 15, 20 seconds. I was going to say, it seemed like, because like, Juan, it's like, cause she accepted it because in a world where she couldn't be a complete emitified or something.
Or you can hold yourselves together a little longer. It's just literally like a shoot. It was just like, and she was gone. Yeah, because Nick Heary's is a little slower.
Yeah. And he gets annoyed and then just goes away. Yeah. Yeah.
That was cool. So, real quick passing. Yeah, one post credit scene at the end, which is great. Because when the movie ends and everyone dies and Farmer Thanos ends the book, or the movie, like, freaking Infinity Gauntlet, I heard somebody say they might have been a scarecrow fan who's in there, but I don't know if that's true.
Ah, well, I got to do that. I got to watch it again. She wins. No, once is enough for me.
Yeah. I don't want to go by it. But so Farmer Thanos, like Satisfied with Success, and people are calling us the first time I started back of the Avengers trilogy, which is like a down and down. No one wins in this except fan.
Yeah, a bad guy wins. Complete defeat. Yeah. Which is great.
And then it ends with that beautiful score by Alan Sylvesterie, and just that, like, really like the classy credits. Yeah. The fonts were great. Yeah.
And you see that first transition, space. Yeah. And then like, they're going to be nowhere in space. Yeah.
And then it's like, it looks perfect. Yeah. The fonts like really distinct, which is funny because the roots are the exact same thing with Civil War. Where they've like covered the screen.
Yes. It was very specific. Yeah, but it's very odd. Yeah, but it works.
Yeah. And then it's like, I see more than one or two. And then it's repeat. They can be great.
But yeah, once that happens and you're just like, there's no room for like the grand credits scene. I think there was a moment for a lot of people where when I think it's dialing out, it's like, you're waiting, it's like sending, and it's like, four. Or it's clobbering time or? No.
I mean, there's no way they do that. No. But still it's a digital screen. They could have waited right until like right before they deliver the movies to theaters.
And they're like, yeah, the four. Yeah. No. I also thought for a second they wouldn't put anything.
I used to do that. I don't feel like it would be that. It wasn't. That long, I was definitely like, oh my God, they're not going to show us what it is.
I thought I was just going to say received. Yeah. No, it goes somewhere, but you don't know who. It's like, that's not enough.
Yeah. What they did was great. I was really like, oh, Nick, here's that cool. Yeah.
No. No. You got to do one thing. And then, yeah, what's this?
So I guess he was calling Captain Marvel from space. Yeah. Oh, it's Captain Marvel. Yeah.
The thing that goes, Captain Marvel. Yeah. Well, spoilers, right? Yeah.
No, we never said. But they saw it. They saw it. They saw it.
They saw it. They saw it. They saw it. They saw it.
They saw it. Yeah. They were like, I bet they were like, that's a little hard to tell. Put the colors.
Yeah. I wasn't sure. I thought I was going to be Captain Marvel. And I'm like, is that Star of the Captain Marvel?
Yeah. That's a little Star. I don't know the character. No.
It's a bit like earlier that shape. Oh, okay. There's the color. Oh, thank you.
That's the color. Yeah. That's the color. Yeah.
That's the color. Yeah. That's the color. That's the color.
That's the color. Yeah. That's the color. Yeah.
That's the color. They're white. That's definitely Black. That's The kiss.
That's the color. And maybe she get to go more. It turns better. I don't want Swiens really to give it to her mom.
Yeah. I felt like that was not my name ever again. That there was, in fact, I'd feel that power. You get some right.
You go connected and then get some kind of enBIe term. T That's okay. That's where I'm going. I ever wanted to go back down.
I've just met more on THAT. What's gonna happen? Yeah. That's the why I am.
I know where I sit. Who is the Incredible guy talking about this, and who is the first one who took the video? That's a whole reilles. Like her.
Because they're kind of left field and everything was so well thought out in the movie that works in this world Where are like Tony star because the character really worked yeah theories on what they're gonna call Avengers 5 or 4 or yeah? The revenge is I like it Yeah, I don't know is there is there another infinity yes, I don't know that would make sense infinity war gauntlets crusade You could say the crusade to like the exact revenge yes Yeah, that's what it'll be like we could talk about like whether we think that everyone's gonna come back when they get the infinity But like these characters aren't thinking that they're gonna get to be bringing one back No, they're like we're just left to and then I was already one so it's like you could just leave it But like they're not gonna be like we gotta fucking make them pay yes. It has to be a response. Yeah.
Yeah, that's cool Yeah, the Avengers strike back The infinity assault yeah Infinites future yeah I think yeah, I think yeah, well unless they don't use any infinities at all like my theory was always that it's called Avengers disassembled Hmm Yeah I think but having talked about now like hash that like all the different infinities I like the I like a crusade crusade Mmm, I think that makes sense. Yeah, but they also said they didn't want to release the name of the movie before the movie came out Oh, they didn't tell you what the next floor was called before then is free came out because they said the title would have spoiled the ending of infinity Okay, my guess is that uh that uh, because I also said he was like he was really regretful He did that because like now everyone's like never gonna look at the hype of expectations right? Yeah, and he's like I guess it wasn't that much as well. So we're gonna wait I don't know when it's gonna tell I just kind of like that anyway, but like it like it It lasts us a living this moment.
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, I know what the hell's gonna happen. I look you for like already talking about Yeah, well, it's a movie that took 10 years to make is finally here.
Let's talk about the next one Title yeah, well, let's talk about that title. Let's get a half every letter. Yes. No, what's the possible interpretation of this work?
Right, and we have three different titles. So this is gonna be a full-time five. Okay. Um shout out to Josh Roland I think he's great in this movie by the way.
Yeah, he crushed it. Yeah, he sucks the rest of the time I like he's done really bad things before which is why I was surprised to see him do such a good job in this Yeah, I thought he did awesome completely did There were moments where he sounded and reminded me of Ron Provin and I was like oh yeah, I'm probably done a good job with Thanos. I'm really glad John. Yeah, I mean I can't see either of those people's like features without picture in their entire body and Josh Roland's works better than our Probins yeah, just physique wise Yeah, so like if it's a real proman or someone similarly like not as like gigantic.
Yeah, that would be like distracting for me Well, I was thinking was just he's all he's teaching anyways is make a buffer Yeah, but it's just like I can't help picturing the actor and be like like if they're such a disparity between like the actor that knows is behind it And they're actually there. You're like, that's weird. Yeah, why would you do that? Yeah?
If you pick a big guy yeah, I think there's a lot of things with bubbles he turns the Starlords right like the name is there in total bubbles in turns tomorrow is Yeah, no, what's like the least dangerous thing? Well, it's strange turns the magic back into butterflies. Yeah Like no, we're gonna talk about Hulk No, I'm being afraid. He's afraid of an essence.
Yeah, come on back. Yeah, that's a cool development Yeah, I think really clever way to give Mark Ruffalo more screen time and save a few shekels on CG Yeah, oh, yeah, because there was so little CG in this movie I was saying it was all CG like they were like at least four two four six completely computer generated characters Yeah, the entire black order Thanos groups rocket Hulk. Yeah, the red skull for a few minutes It also like to pop up armor. It's a deprived that team of a heavy hitter until four shows up.
Yeah, it makes the world I want more in back. Oh, yeah, that was great. Well done Not just including the creator who makes right literally a pack or the impact that the whole bus forever makes when he trips I Get the big suit Watch we'll see you guys next time here on top of another conversation about comics and comics really culture. I'm Sal
