Embodied and Honest: Part 1

from Revelation Within On the Go! · host Heidi Bylsma-Epperson and Christina Motley

Send us Fan MailIn this first episode of our four-part series on living embodied, we explore what it means to stop disconnecting from our bodies and start living with honesty before God. We share how many of us learned to survive hard seasons by numbing out, pretending we’re okay, and pushing through pain until disconnection became normal. From our perspective, embodiment is not about self-obsession or chasing trends. It’s about integrity, stewardship, and being truthful about what’s happening inside us. We ground the conversation in Scripture, looking at God breathing life into humanity in Genesis 2:7, the call to honor God with our bodies, and the reality of Jesus coming in the flesh. We also reflect on Elijah’s collapse in 1 Kings 19 and how God responded first with rest and nourishment before correction or instruction. That moment reshaped the way we think about burnout, healing, and the connection between body and spirit. We end by focusing on the resurrection of Jesus, reminding ourselves that He still carried a physical body, invited people to touch His wounds, and even ate with His disciples. That truth challenges the temptation to escape our limits or disconnect from ourselves. We leave listeners with one gentle question to begin practicing awareness without shame: “What is happening in my body right now?” because awareness is often the first step toward healing and change.Support the showLearn more about our Revelation Within Community: https://www.revelationwithin.org
