Emerging Iconic Girl - Confidence from Mother, Positivity from Father

This is about Ms. Khyati, 15 years old young, dynamic, passionate and an ambitious girl who has been living with type 1 diabetes from 14 years, that is when she was just 1 year old. When asked, she said she found out about her diabetes in real at the age of 6-7 years as she realized that she was being treated differently, she was restricted eating sweets and other such food which kids were having. She used to cry about it but one fine day, she was made to understand about her condition and that’s how she came to an acceptance of this life with type 1 diabetes.

The confident Khyati tells us that her mother is the reason behind her confidence and her father behind her positive approach towards life. She aspires to become a dietitian and help people living with diabetes with empathy and kindness.

She also mentioned how pump has changed her life and how her type 1 buddy, Anil has helped her change the perspective of living with type 1 diabetes. She has suffered a lot because of unawareness about type 1 diabetes and she wants to work to advocate and aware people about it. Pump therapy has been a blessing for her, and she request other teenage girls to catch a hold of it for better diabetes management.
