Emily: An Aussie Freebirth Story

After 2 births within Australia's Private Birthing System, Emily was left feeling like there had to be something better than the "not very nice experiences" she had had. With the threat of a c-section overshadowing both of her induced births, for no medical reason at all - she decided that, surely, there had to be a better way if she did decide to have a third child. Emily awoke to the unprofessionalism and inaccuracy of the medicalised birth system pretty quickly, after the misdiagnosis of her 'large' baby (which in fact turned out to be 'small'); and the unnecessary urgency of a suggested c-section. Which Emily believes had more to do with her Obstetrician's shift ending, than the safety of her, or her baby.After fate led Emily to connecting with a like-minded wise woman, who offered to support her on her third birthing journey, there was no way Emily was stepping back into the system. Emily shares with us the story of her unhindered, uninterrupted, physiological birth; at home and in freedom.
