Emily Nelson: High Fitness Co-Creator/Owner on starting a group fitness phenomenon, and her passion for encouraging self love and body positvity

from Beautiful Shifts · host Lindsay & Shantil

Emily shares her story of starting High Fitness with her Co-Creator Amber, igniting a group fitness phenomenon that has over a million participants annually through in person and online classes, and 4000 instructors. Emily's love for teaching fitness classes and dance choreography is what started her path to High Fitness, and her passion for her participants well-being both mentally and physically is the driving force behind all she does. Emily shares some of the shifts she's experienced as she's gone down the unexpected path of being an entrepreneur and business owner, including balancing it all as a working mom, working alongside her husband, and running the business with her best friend Amber, who lives in Canada and comes from a different cultural background. Emily's goal is for each High participant to feel loved and accepted for who they are and to find fitness that brings them joy.   Emily is a wife and mother of three, KSL STUDIO 5 fitness contributor, fitness instructor, snowboarder, cookie and sweat set lover. She currently teaches and runs HIGH Fitness from Bountiful, Utah and travels North America educating and inspiring others to fall in love with fitness and drop the emotional weight.    Find Emily on Instagram @highfitnessemily Find High Fitness online at highfitness.com and on Instagram @high.fitness   Find Beautiful Shifts on Facebook and Instagram @beautifulshifts_podcast.  Thanks so much for listening!

Wherever Life Takes Us whereverlifetakesuss Join three best friend as they explore this beautiful world! Half Ties kwamenabrace Half-ties is a conversation series on the funny, beautiful and sometimes challenging moments that interracial couples experience being with somebody who’s culturally different from them.Hosted by creative couple Olivia & Kwamena, we listen to stories about growing up with racism and prejudice; falling in love and meeting the in-laws; navigating difficult conversations within the family and in society, and how these couples make their relationship work and what they actively choose to pass down to the next generation. C.S. Lewis's The Last Battle St. Philip's Church: Charleston, SC Come join us on Wednesday nights as we explore the riches of C.S. Lewis’s marvelous book The Last Battle, which is the last of The Chronicles of Narnia. It is a remarkable book on multiple levels and was awarded the Carnegie Medal back in the 1950s when it was first published. The Last Battle has some themes in common with The Great Divorce and That Hideous Strength that will make it an excellent follow-up to those two books, and like them, it has some remarkable resonance with things going on in today’s culture. It is a book that is both theologically rich and poignantly beautiful in its writing, and it can help equip us to live boldly for Christ in a culture that has lost its way. (Although this book is the last of The Chronicles of Narnia, it can stand on its own and it is not necessary to have read the other books for this class.)
