In which we find Mr. Woodhouse distressed by an unexpected snowfall that threatens the safety and comfort of his family’s journey home, prompting various plans and assurances amidst the gathering storm. The scene then turns to an uneasy carriage ride where Mr. Elton, emboldened and unrepentant, confesses sentiments most unwelcome to Emma, leaving her spirits greatly unsettled upon her return to Hartfield.
