An unserved, 1955 arrest warrant for Carolyn Bryant was recently found by a team searching a Mississippi courthouse basement for evidence about the horrific lynching and murder of 14yo Emmett Till. Now, here in July of 2022, a new question is on the table: Should Carolyn Bryant, now 88 years old, be arrested for Till's kidnapping and murder? The horrific death of Till was a spark in the early Civil Rights movement. After Mamie Carthan, Emmett's mother, decided to hold an open casket funeral for her son, the entire world was confronted by the horrors taking place in the American South. Why was Emmett Till tortured and shot to death by Carolyn Bryant's husband and his half-brother? What was he accused of? What crime was so terrible that it brought upon his death?: Supposedly, Emmett had whistled at 21yo Carolyn Bryant, the owner of a grocery store Emmett entered to purchase gum. Bryant claimed he also made physical advances. Except it was a lie.
