Emmy Winner Nancy Glass on Burden of Guilt, False Accusations and the Ethics of True Crime | Up+Adam

Sponsored by The Mountain Air | Sponsored by Benny’s Pizza | SLOFreeParking Emmy-winning investigative journalist and producer Nancy Glass joins Adam Montiel on Up+Adam to talk about Season 3 of Burden of Guilt, the iHeart true-crime series centered on Cindy, a mother whose life is torn apart after a devastating allegation involving her fiancé Kenny and her 9-year-old son. What follows is years of court battles, fractured relationships, and a fight over not just what happened, but whose version of the truth people are willing to believe. Adam and Nancy go beyond the mechanics of the case and into the much bigger questions underneath it. What happens when an accusation becomes an identity? Can someone win legally and still lose narratively? How do journalists investigate claims involving a child without causing further harm? Nancy also pulls back the curtain on the ethics of true-crime storytelling, including why she refuses to become what she calls a “video vampire,” simply taking someone’s worst experience for content and disappearing. It is a conversation about truth, manipulation, judgment, empathy, and the responsibility storytellers carry when real human lives are on the other side of the microphone. Season 3 of Burden of Guilt is available now, with new episodes released Wednesdays. • Listen to Burden of Guilt on iHeartRadio: Burden of Guilt on iHeartRadio • Listen on Apple Podcasts: Burden of Guilt on Apple Podcasts • Follow Glass Podcasts on Instagram: @glasspodcasts • Learn more about Glass Entertainment Group: Glass Entertainment Group ******** *PORTABIDET: UP+ADAM IS AN OFFICIAL SPOKESPERSON FOR PORTABIDET - USE THIS LINK FOR UP+ADAM LISTENERS TO LEARN MORE AND GET YOURS!
