Welcome to the Tweed Trends podcast. Hey, Evac, what's trending today? Hey, I'm Evac, hey girl, and you are tuned in to Tweed Trends. It's the quickest way to find out what's trending today.

Hey guys, welcome back. So today is National Hard Candy Day, and it's also National Emo Day. And I can't really come up with a way to mash the two of them up together and come up with a really great show because I feel terrible right now. I didn't even know if I was gonna be able to make it in here today to record, but we're gonna see what happens.

So let's get started. So my original plan was to interview either an artist or a group that was in the email genre and because I've been feeling so badly, all of that just fell by the wayside. So I ended up just doing a lot of reading on the topic, and there's a couple of books out there that people have written that they're highlighting the roots of email. And after reading it, it was very confusing because then they talked about Screamo and all these other different genres that kind of fell out of email.

And I'm just kind of like, already then, you know, and then some of them, they were saying that although people claim that this group is, and this group is, but they really aren't true to the game, so to speak. And I'm just like, oh my gosh, I didn't mean for this to be this difficult. But the information that I found was really interesting. It sounds as if the artists are basically misunderstood, that yes, they do share their feelings and emotions and sometimes it's very dark.

But there are some up-tempo songs too that, you know, they have in the catalog that, that was where I got confused. I'm like, so this is considered email, like, okay. So like Jimmy E. Worrell, I was like, okay, I like that group.

I wouldn't have guessed that they were email, but okay, sure. So long story short, the jury is still out as far as I'm concerned on what is exactly email, what qualifies and what doesn't. So I'm gonna continue to look into it and possibly find someone to interview, just to kind of get an inside look on what somebody in that genre feels about how they're represented. Now onto the topic of hard candy.

You know, when I was a kid, going to church, I sat next to my grandmother at some point in service, she would dig in her purse and find some hard candy, nine times out of 10 it would be a peppermint. And honestly, as a kid, I did not respect peppermints. Peppermint were like the bottom of the totem pole. Who wants that?

Yuck, you know, granny, don't you have a Jolly Rancher or something? I don't want a mint. But now that I'm an adult, mints are okay, you know, because if your breath is bad, a mint will clean it up real quick. If your sinuses are, are blocked or have an issues with it, you can probably open up your sinuses with a mint candy.

They're just so many pluses to the mint candy that I think as young people, we miss it. We're not there, we don't know. It's okay, because we just don't know. But hard candy, granny, you knew.

Okay, yes. So I thought I was gonna be able to make it through three segments, but I'm back in the bed now. I am so drained. This is amazing.

If only I had some hard candy in my granny to read my back right now. Maybe I'll listen to some emo, and I'm sure it won't make me feel better, but, oh gosh, I don't know. But anyway, guys, before you head on out and do me a favor, head on over to Twitter and follow me at hey. That's at he, e-v-e-t-t-e, or just look for the hashtag tweet trends.

Please, oh, please, oh, please send your prayers up for me that I'm gonna feel better soon. And I will chat with you guys on Christmas Eve Tuesday. Bye, guys.
