Familiarity does not matter when our vision can no longer recognize and leverage a history of trust with a familiar individual and much less a stranger or acquaintance in our environment that may be loud, abrupt or nervous. Just recently this was displayed with a lady in hypervigilant state was unable to recognize a person as real. She was not lying, she was filtering information from a deep primordial neurological program that was triggered by stress.
