Katelyn Carey is an acute care nurse and clinical educator who has spent over 20 years helping people survive and recover from physical and emotional trauma. Her background includes community, pre-hospital and hospital care where she has served as a clinical educator, a director, and a program coordinator for award-winning healthcare systems. For two decades Katelyn has been responsible for designing, building, and teaching programs that support caregivers in everything from community crisis nurseries to nurse and physician residency programs. Along the way she began to dive into the research behind effective communication and care in high-stress spaces. Now, as a TEDx and keynote conference speaker, Katelyn teaches others to increase their compassion and their effectiveness through the principles of trauma-informed learning, holistic wellness, and cognitive science.
