Empathy......the lost art. What happened to reserving judgement in the criminal justice system?

from Steel City Round Table Podcast · host Mark Kneebone

In this episode we talk about a lost idea in the criminal justice system, and life in general. Empathy and more to the point the lack of empathy. Why do some LEO's have preconceived opinions of people and situations prior to actually getting there? Shouldn't they treat every situation separately on a case by case basis? These are just some of the things we talk about. We are not saying all LEO are like this, more that it has become a negative pattern in the criminal justice system to judge people on personal bias and not on the actions and behaviors observed. Another concern is why many LEO approach people with the "I'm better than you" attitude instead of remembering we are all human. Who better to talk about this than a former LEO and a criminal defense attorney. As always it's our opinions so please voice yours.
