Rowan and Dorain make several attempts to secure Rolfe as an ally before Aelin arrives, and in an unexpected twist offer Gavriel and Fenrys a bargain to secure them in an alliance. Aelin arrives and with a little help from Lysandra pulls off a dramatic entrance. She makes Rolfe an offer, but he still refuses the alliance. Aelin still had a few tricks up her sleeve, so she lets Rolfe think the dance was over...for now.
