Early in my marriage, things felt extremely out of balance. I felt like I was doing everything. I felt the heavy burden of making up for my husband’s shortcomings both financially and in the housework department. It was extremely stressful!Then I learned a skill that changed everything.Now I know that God built us women to receive and that when I interfere with receiving I actually interfere with my husband’s sense of purpose. He’s built to provide and he loves to.I’m so grateful that I learned to receive graciously. I started by practicing smiling and saying thank you whenever anyone gave me gifts, compliments, help, or apologies.I thank God today that it has become an ingrained habit.I invite you to experiment with being a more gracious receiver today so that your relationship can come back into balance.
