John D. Marvin is President and CEO of Texas State Optical. He was appointed to this position in 2001 when the franchisees purchased the company. During his time as President, the organization has opened over 80 new, start up locations throughout Texas and was listed as the 16th largest optical retail chain in the United States by Vision Monday in the spring of 2022. Texas State Optical is the largest, doctor owned, private practice organization in the United States. Mr. Marvin is a a student of leadership, small business management and personal growth. He has written a column on management for INVISION magazine since its founding in 2014. He believes in a customer-centric approach to the delivery of eyecare and is dedicated to helping young optometrists realize the dream of private practice ownership. He is recognized in the industry as an innovator in integration of technology in the delivery of eye care services.
