Empowering teen voice

from The Wellness Puzzle Podcast · host Jarred Kellerman, Kelly Murphy, Andrew Jobling

Kelly Murphy, Jarred Kellerman and I got together with one goal in mind. That is to help teenagers believe more in themselves, find more confidence in the strengths they have and feel empowered to speak up and feel heard. You may have heard that it takes a community to raise a healthy young person, but actually, it takes a healthy and aware community to raise healthy young people. This is why we started YACC, Youth Advocates of Community Change. To help young people, parents, educators and community leaders come together, get on the same page and build a healthy and aware community.Kelly Murphy after dealing with trauma and homelessness as a young person is a personal counselor who works with many troubled your people at the Australian Center of Trauma and Wellness. Jarred Kellerman, also with challenges as a disengaged young person, is now on a mission to help build resilience in adolescent youth & improve confidence in joining the "real world". These are two wonderful people who I respect totally and love working with. This is a powerful conversation about how we can help empower the amazing potential that lies within every young person. Regardless of whether you are a teenager, were a teenager, have a teenager, educate teenagers or having any contact with or influence over a teenager, this conversation will have something that will make a difference, not just in the lives of young people, but in your own life as well. This is a powerful, inspiring and wonderful conversation you do not want to miss.To connect with Jarred Kellerman Click here. To find out more about YACC and Kelly Murphy click hereTo listen to the first episode of 'Having a YACC Podcast' click hereThanks to Pietro and the team at Fitii for sponsoring this podcast. In episode 86, I speak with two amazing colleagues of mine, Kelly Murphy and Jarred Kellerman. Kelly is the founder and director of the Australian Centre for Trauma & Wellness, and Jarred is an educational consultant and coach. Both have an incredible passion for empowering young people to be the best they can be. The three of us have collaborated on a project called YACC, Youth Advocates of Community Change, and have just launched 'Having a YACC', a powerful podcast. In this conversation we discuss the critically important topic of how we, as a community, empower young people to voice their concerns, feel heard and become the best they can be. This is a powerful and inspiring conversation not to be missed.
